A Lot of Single Gals Feel This Way

I apologize for being out for over a week - I've been Über busy the past couple of days and haven't had the time to write down my thoughts so this one's going to be quite short.

If you're single and reading this, you've probably had a general feeling of waiting to the point of being idle. You may have said to yourself, "I won't eat in another date place til I go on a date with a guy I like" or "I won't watch movies until I watch it with my boyfriend". For me, it used to be the latter, 'til I realized I was being silly. I felt like I my life wasn't complete until I meet him. Oh, how wrong I was.

It's sad to think that we haven't lived if we haven't met the one, if our lives are not whole because we haven't found our missing piece. You may think it's crazy but a lot of single girls do feel this way, they just don't admit it. There's nothing much wrong with it at first (because we all go through it), unless you start living less than your destiny. The worst part is, some girls only realize it when it's too late and they end up regretting. Each day is a gift, to both singles and couples. Live each day because it is a gift.

In a nutshell, live your life now. Live your destiny. You are complete, you just don't know it yet. Live it in graceful anticipation embark on adventures whether it's trying out a new restaurant or watching a horror flick. Do them while you're still single because they would make awesome memories.

It's One of Those Days Again

I was hanging out with some friends last night and once again, I was the 5th wheel.

Sometimes, being the 5th wheel sucks. Big time.

Don't get me wrong, I had a great time. But as I finished my glass of wine, I clearly saw that I was utterly single. I pleaded to God to act quickly and introduce me to my husband already. My heart was racing as I panicked while my heart sank with the reality that I (might) have not met him yet.

If you've read my posts from the beginning, you might think that I'm 100% put together when it comes to these things, but I'm only human. Sometimes, I get sad and lonely too.

I did say in my earlier posts that this blog is everything about being single, both highs and lows. As positive as my previous posts on the single season are, just like you, I go through the lows too. One of the reasons why I started this blog was also because during moments like this, I needed reminding myself.

There are mostly good and great days, but there are these days that just makes me wonder, "Will he ever come?", "Will I ever get married?" or "Will God really answer my prayer?"

Truth is, I could never give a definite answer to these questions, only God can. I surrender to this thought each time.

This verse is the secret to waiting gracefully. Sometimes we tend to forget but when I rely on God to give me the strength, He always instantly comes through as if rescuing me from my worries. Waiting gracefully is not about us or our season of waiting, it's about what God can do with our lives as we wait. Reminding myself once again now, I feel a little less lonely and if you're single like me, I hope it helps you too.

FOOD DATE : Yabu: House of Katsu

We celebrated my nephew's 3rd birthday over dinner at Yabu : House of Katsu last night. I was curious on the variety of their menu since all the katsudons I know are either chicken or pork with a side of eggs.

When I dine in Japanese restaurants, I normally order my main course from their teppan menu because katsudons and tempuras to me are basically friend breaded food and being a bit more conscious of what I eat now, I try to veer away from anything deep fried (I really try).

Yabu's interiors embody modern Japanese design but with a cozier feel with their lighting and warm wood tones. The restaurants space seats 50-60 people and around 10-15 more outside, which makes their workspace busy and tight. If you want a quiet Japanese dinner where you can hear traditional Japanese music in the background, then you might want to save Yabu for another date (maybe the second or third date).

I ordered their bestseller, the Kurobuta Pork Set. Kurobuta is also known as the Black Berkshire pig and like Kobe beef, Kurobuta is known for its tenderness and flavor. Considering its their premium set, their price of PhP 515.00 ($12) isn't so bad. The servers will give each person roasted sesame seeds in a grooved bowl and a wooden mortar so you can grind them yourself. You're then instructed to pour 2 scoops of Tonkatsu sauce to mix. Their side of cabbage greens are refillable.
